Managing Director/Director of Investments

Mark J. Aubry has developed a specialty in helping clients simplify very confusing and overwhelming topics.  Through customized and coordinated solutions, Mark leads the Aubry & Eustice team to help clients move Beyond Financial Planning.

Mark educates clients on basic economic principles and their effects. Clients have used Mark’s strategies to minimize income taxes, properly transition businesses and practices, leverage the value of their businesses to create personal wealth and take control of their investments and financial futures.

Mark is the Managing Director/Director of Investments for Aubry & Eustice and holds the same titles with BryGen, LLLP, a private equity investment firm.  He speaks regularly to business organizations, athletic programs and on college campuses.  He has appeared on television more than fifteen times discussing financial, investment and planning topics.  As an Adjunct Professor at Illinois Wesleyan University, Mark has taught three different courses: Investments, Financial Management and Life Planning and Social Benefits. In 2009 he published a white paper entitled the Seven Investor Traps - An Authoritative Guide on How the Average Investor Becomes an Extraordinary Investor.

A graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, Mark was an outstanding high school athlete and All-Conference and All-Region collegiate basketball player and was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame in April of 2007. He still holds several high school, college and state of Illinois records.

In 2009, Mark and his wife, Sarah, along with Mark’s cousin, Adam Provance, founded an organization called Hoops for Haiti.  Bringing a message of hope and love through basketball, the organization collects basketball equipment in the United States and uses it to lead basketball camps in Haiti.

Mark and  Sarah live in Normal, Illinois with their daughters, Danielle and Elisabeth.  The Aubrys are expecting their third daughter in September, 2010.

Director of Business & Finance

Jim Eustice is a well-known advisor to small business owners. Over 500 hundred small business owners and individuals have received advice from Jim for over 15 years. Through his practice, Jim has developed a specialty of teaching clients how to take control of their financial futures.  Jim is the Director of Business & Finance with Aubry & Eustice and he holds the same positions with BryGen, LLLP, a private equity investment firm.

An expert advisor and counselor in helping clients gain clarity and purpose when it comes to complicated planning and investing issues, Jim started his advising career as a small business lender where he was one of the most respected small business lenders in the state of Illinois. Jim has taken his ability to understand the struggles of the small business owner, uncover areas in which clients are most financially exposed and teach them how to take very simple steps to ensure current protection and future security for themselves and their families.

Jim is actively involved in his community. He has served in numerous functions for Marquette High School, the Reddick Mansion Association, Junior Achievement, YMCA, Ottawa Youth Football, and Ottawa Girls Fast pitch. He has served as a volunteer football coach for 17 years.

Jim’s hobby, when he is not helping clients feel more secure about their financial futures, is coaching high school football.  An accomplished high school athlete, Jim broke numerous high school and collegiate total offense and passing records. He was an All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-America Football Player at Southeast Missouri State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance.

Jim lives in Ottawa, Illinois with his wife Cathy and their three children, Sydney, Bryant and Carly.

Tom Fediuk, Ph.D.

Director of Communication & Behavioral Researchfediuk

Dr. Fediuk joined Aubry & Eustice in 2009 and serves as communication specialist for the Aubry & Eustice team. Tom is a graduate of Illinois State University (B.S. in Public Relations; M.S. in Communication) and received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in Communication.  His area of specialty is in strategic communication, and his research has primarily focused on topics related to behavioral, social, and communication science.

Tom has worked on projects related to public communication campaigns, including efforts to reduce the amount of alcohol consumed on college campuses. He has worked on communication audits as well as the development of assessment tools, such as for Medical Professional Performance Systems, which sought to develop a valid and reliable tool for measuring the core resident competencies as designated by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Outcome Project.  He has also worked on trust in working relationships in team environments (the WRITE stuff), including communication issues and styles in the nurse-physician team environment.

Tom has taught at the University of Minnesota Duluth and is currently an Assistant Professor at Illinois State University. An interesting fact: during his graduate studies, he taught at both Michigan State University AND at the University of Michigan in the same year. However, he remains devoted to the Spartans of MSU.

Tom has presented numerous papers at conferences such as the Academy of Management, Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, Family Enterprise Research Academy, International Family Enterprise Research Academy, International Public Relations Research Conference, National Communication Association, and Workshop on Family Firm Management Research. He has published in Communication Monographs, Corporate Communication,Journal of Applied Communication Research, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, and Human Communication Research. He has chapters in the Handbook of Crisis Communication and the soon to be published book on Sport Athletes in Crisis.

Unlike the rest of the Aubry & Eustice team, Tom does not have a history in sport engagement. He does, however, enjoy watching sports and is married to a retired professional Squash athlete.

Suzanne Yandell suzanne
Director of Client Services

Suzanne Yandell is the Director of Client Services for Aubry & Eustice, LLC.  With a strong background in the financial services industry, Suzanne fully understands the importance of a team approach to wealth management. While spending the last two years at a different financial firm, Suzanne was part of the Aubry & Eustice team for four years prior to that. As of July of 2010, Suzanne and her husband have moved home and Suzanne is once again part of the Aubry & Eustice team.

As part of her responsibilities as the Director of Client Services, Suzanne will help clients protect the wealth they are creating or have created. Suzanne knows first-hand how proper planning can allow a family to take control of their financial future and how improper planning can lead to frustration and insecurity.

When she is not helping provide security for our clients’ financial futures, Suzanne can be found coaching volleyball. An outstanding high school athlete at Seneca High School, Suzanne played college volleyball. She graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Business Management and has worked in the financial services industry since 2004. Suzanne enjoys playing and coaching volleyball and spending time with her family.

Suzanne resides in Seneca with her husband, Cory, and their daughter, Tenley.

Joel Koppenhoefer team_joel
General Counsel

Joel M. Koppenhoefer, a Partner with Tessitore & Koppenhoefer, P.C., is the General Counsel for Aubry & Eustice.  His practice focuses on estate planning, corporate law, wealth preservation and commercial litigation on behalf of all types of commercial entities and entrepreneurs.

Both as a trial and appellate lawyer, Joel has substantial experience with the prosecution and defense of multi-million dollar and other “high stakes” litigation in state and federal courts throughout Illinois. In particular, he has litigated numerous cases involving UCC and contract-based matters, patent infringement claims, professional liability, and general tort liability, including overturning a $20 million dollar punitive damages award on appeal.

Joel was awarded his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude. He earned the same honors upon being awarded his Bachelor of Science in Finance from North Central College in Illinois, where he was a member of the football team. He has also recently completed coursework in a Master of Laws program at the University of Miami School of Law.

Joel lives in Chicago, IL with his wife Kate and their son, Henry.
