Unprecedented Times?

We’ve Been Here Before.

“Unprecedented” is the word we continue to hear about the current financial situation.  Yet, if you know - and understand - the history of the capital markets, you would also know that the word “unprecedented” has been used time and again to describe the financial ”crisis du jour.”

The following link (www.aubryeustice.com/podcasts/) will take you to a presentation on the Aubry & Eustice website.  The presentation is done by Weston Wellington, a Vice President with Dimensional Fund Advisors.  In the short 17 minute presentation, Mr. Wellington shows us that we have been enduring “unprecedented financial crises” for a long time.  And yet, the markets, given enough time, continue to increase in value and always beyond what the “experts” expect to see.  The presentation is geared to financial advisors and gets a bit technical at times, but overall, it is a great history lesson.
